I’ve loved all your posts and you are a great finder of things I want but have never heard of. In the end, the only person who can decide if it finishes or not is you though. Is it a chore to do? Do you enjoy it? Have you run out of things to post about? Do you have something better to be going on with? Are you over Sims 2? Does it please you when you post? I can’t answer any of these, and those really are the questions you can answer. I know I will miss your blog if you finish it up (I hope you leave it standing as a resource if you do). But I know where you hang out, so I will always be around to hit you up for great finds. πŸ™‚

  2. No, no, no, please don’t go! I for one love your blog, you always find great items I had no idea existed (and even less of an idea how you ever found them). But – I’m a lazy bum. 😦 As you’ve probably noticed, I’m terrible at commenting, and sicne I subscribe to your blog, I get your post delivered to my inbox, so if I see something I want (which I do in almost every post), I’ll usually use the links in the e-mail rather than going to your site. So my lovin’ doesn’t show as hits or clicks on outgoing links.

I don’t know if it’s any consolation, I know from first-hand experience it can take quite a while before your blog appears on people’s radar. I’ve been running my blog for five years now, and for the first two and-a-half or so, I was toiling in complete obscurity; if I got ten hits, it was a high-traffic day, and any comments I got were usually from people I knew well from other places. It’s only in the last couple of years I’ve found my audience. Granted, yours is a different kind of blog, but even so. πŸ™‚

If you want to, I’d be happy to affiliate with you; I do link to you already, but my affiliate links are in a sidebar rather than on a page, so they get more exposure. My blog is still not a high-traffic one, but I do get more than ten hits a day these days. πŸ˜‰ All I require is a button that’s no more than 110px wide – height is less important. Just let me know.

  3. Aw thanks Nix, it is nice to be wanted, I was just wondering if the want is still there for this type of thing. I have petered off a bit in posting, not because I dont want to, but because theres not as many build sets/items being made anymore! I have got a couple of links saved and ready to go, but I like to have at least 10 to put up otherwise it seems a waste of time! That’ll be great to affiliate with you, I have no clues on half the stuff you can add on these pages, I only found the the blogs I follow link thingy a little while ago, and then also when it comes to my tumblr account, well I have no idea what Im doing with that either, it looks a mess, but seems to be working!! I will have a go at making a button for you! Really dumb question, is it basically just an image or do I need to add the link to it? (told you Im useless!) πŸ˜€

    • Sorry for the late reply! I forgot to follow comments, but of course I also forgot to check back. :/

Anyways. Yay affiliate! πŸ˜€ And that’s not a dumb question at all! Usually, the button has your site name (not the entire URL, though, the button is usually too small for it to be legible, and since the other person is supposed to link back to you anyway, it’s not really necessary) and maybe an image/background that represents your site/you like/looks pretty. πŸ™‚ There aren’t any hard and fast rules, really. Once upon a time, the size had to be 88×31 px, and a pox on you if you made it, say, 89×33, but people are more relaxed about the size now, even though 88×31 still is the most common one. Like I said, up to 110px is fine by me, but no wider than that lest it messes up my layout. πŸ˜‰

You have some examples of different buttons on my links page, here. My own button is just my site name on a plumbbob background (that used to be the same background I had on my site, but I’ve changed it since) – nothing fancy.

      • No ‘Net, ack! Glad you’ve got it back now!

And there’s absolutely no rush with the button, this isn’t a time-limited offer or anything, and now the holidays are coming up. πŸ™‚ You’ll get to it when you get to it. ❀
